Year-Round Assistance
My support doesn’t end after you enroll. I’m available throughout the year to help with questions about claims, finding providers, understanding benefits, or reviewing plan changes.
How I Help You Compare Your Medicare Plan Options
The biggest Medicare decision is often how you want to receive your coverage. I help you objectively compare the two main paths:
I’ll explain how these pieces work together and compare different Medigap plan letters like G, N, etc.
I’ll compare various MA plans (HMOs, PPOs) available in your area, checking doctor networks, drug formularies, estimated out-of-pocket costs, and extra benefits (like dental/vision).
I’ll compare and standalone Part D plans based on your prescriptions and pharmacy preferences.
My goal is to present these options side-by-side, tailored to your specific health needs and budget, so you can make a confident choice.
Adding Supplemental Protection
Sometimes, gaps remain even with good Medicare coverage. If you’re concerned about costs related to dental, vision, hospital stays, or critical illnesses, I can also help you evaluate and enroll in separate supplemental insurance plans designed to work alongside your Medicare coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the most common questions I get from prospective clients:
Most people should enroll during their 7-month Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), which starts 3 months before the month you turn 65, includes your birthday month, and ends 3 months after. Signing up for Part B or Part D late can lead to lifetime penalties. However, if you’re still working and have employer coverage, the rules might differ. Part of my service is helping you determine your specific enrollment dates based on your situation (turning 65, retiring later, disability) to ensure you enroll on time and avoid penalties.
This is one of the most important Medicare decisions, and there’s no single “best” answer – it depends entirely on your priorities. Generally, Original Medicare + Medigap offers broader freedom to choose doctors nationwide and more predictable out-of-pocket costs, but usually has higher premiums and requires a separate Part D plan. Medicare Advantage often has lower (even $0) premiums, includes drug coverage and extra benefits (like dental/vision), but typically uses local provider networks (HMOs/PPOs) and has copays/coinsurance when you use services. My role is to clearly explain the pros and cons of each path for you and compare specific plans side-by-side based on your health needs, budget, and doctor preferences to help you make an informed choice.
This is crucial! If you choose Original Medicare with a Medigap plan, you can generally see any doctor or hospital in the U.S. that accepts Medicare. If you’re considering a Medicare Advantage plan (HMO or PPO), these use specific provider networks. A key part of my plan comparison service is verifying that your preferred doctors, specialists, and hospitals are included in the network of any Medicare Advantage plans you’re considering before you enroll.
Original Medicare (Parts A & B) generally doesn’t cover outpatient prescriptions. You’ll need coverage either through a standalone Part D plan (used with Original Medicare/Medigap) or a Medicare Advantage plan that includes drug coverage (MA-PD). I help you review your current medication list against different Part D and MA-PD formularies (their lists of covered drugs) to find a plan that covers your specific prescriptions affordably and helps you understand potential costs through different coverage phases like the ‘donut hole’.
It depends, primarily on the size of your employer and whether your employer coverage is considered “creditable” (at least as good as Medicare). The rules for coordinating Medicare with employer group health plans can be complex. I help you understand these specific rules based on your situation to determine if you need to enroll in Part A and/or Part B now, or if you can safely delay enrollment without facing penalties later.
Yes, in most cases. The main opportunity is the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) each fall, from October 15th to December 7th. During AEP, you can switch between Medicare Advantage plans, switch between Part D plans, drop MA and return to Original Medicare (and potentially apply for Medigap), or join an MA plan from Original Medicare. There are also Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs) triggered by certain life events (like moving or losing other coverage). Part of my ongoing support includes reminding you about AEP and offering an annual review to ensure your current plan still meets your needs and help you make changes if necessary. I also help identify if you qualify for an SEP during the year.
