How to Check Medicare Supplement Prices Without Sharing Personal Information

Published on:

I’m going to show you how to get Medicare supplement (Medigap) quotes without putting your personal information in anywhere, so you won’t get a bunch of sales calls.

Step 1: Go to Medicare.gov

Head to medicare.gov. Click the link that says something like “Find Health and Drug Plans” or “Find Plans Now.” They change the wording sometimes, but it’s pretty clear.

Step 2: Put in Your Zip Code

Plans are very dependent on your zip code, so enter yours first.

Step 3: Select “Medigap”

Choose “Medigap policy.” It’s the exact same thing as Medicare supplement.

Step 4: Enter Basic Info

Fill in your age, gender, and tobacco use. There’s also a spot for household discounts. I’m leaving that blank for now. It varies by company.

Click “Update Prices.”

Step 5: Pick Plan G or N

You’ll see plans listed alphabetically. Skip A, B, C—no one buys those. Go straight to G or N. G is the most popular, so that’s usually the best place to start.

Step 6: See the Prices

Click “View Policies” and you’ll see monthly premiums from low to high. Prices will vary a lot—for example, from $144 up to $456. Usually, the competitive ones are in the $150-$180 range.

Important to Know:

This site doesn’t show potential future rate increases or the financial rating and history of the companies. You’ll want a formal quote later from a broker who can give you more details without needing to officially apply.

This method gives you a quick, anonymous way to get a solid idea of Medigap prices in your area.
